I left SpringSource about 6 weeks ago and haven’t really concerned myself with a lot of technical things since then. As part of my job at SpringSource I used to speak at conferences a lot. This week I had one of my first conventions ever where I purely had a commercial role and not so much a technical role. It was booth duty time \ud83d\ude42 and I must say, it wasn’t too bad.<\/p>\n

I am still speaking at a few conferences in the coming months though. Early may, in Krakow, the Polish Java User Group is organizing GeeCON<\/a> and I’m speaking there, as well as my ex-colleague and friend Arjen Poutsma. I will be covering the latest and greatest in Spring 3.0 whereas Arjen will be mainly covering the new and pretty exciting REST features.<\/p>\n

At the same time, in Amsterdam, we’re hosting the monthly JTeam tech meeting again. This tech meeting will focus on search technology (Droids, Solr and Tika) and on GWToolbox, an add-on for Google Web Toolkit. You’re more than welcome to join. Later that month, I will be speaking about SpringSource dm Server<\/a> at the Java Application Server Day<\/a> in Genova, Italy. I always like Genova and luckily enough, I will be able to combine it with a visit to nearby Rapallo, a beach town in Italy.<\/p>\n

Next, in June, another event is coming up. I don’t have any details about that yet, but it’s in Italy again, this time in Cagliari, Sardegna. I will also be speaking about Spring 3.0 there.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, on June 3rd, we’re hosting the Search Symposium, about which I blogged<\/a> last week. This should also be pretty exciting with some expert in the search field joining in. Whereas the tech meeting (covered above) is more technically oriented, this symposium will definitely also feature technical discussion, but is focused on the business requirements that are present in information-intensive organizations. Later that week on June 5th, we’re hosting the Amsterdam Java Meetup again<\/a> in the Jaren in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

Last but not least there’s SpringOne. This event is taking place next week and I am really looking forward to seeing all my (ex-)colleagues there. The conference is followed by the ever-exciting Queen’s Day and it’s held in the grand hotel Krasnapolsky, on Dam Square in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n
